A “day off” uni. Meeting up to get a start on the major assignments due soon. Heading towards Cockle Bay instead to soak up the sun and embark on a 4 hour food taste-and-stroll-athon.

Sigh. How does this ALWAYS HAPPEN!?

Darling Harbour is definitely one of my favourite places in Sydney, and the background of many unforgettable memories. You’ll see groups of tourists, families, couples, and some locals enjoying the water and restaurants in the area. I have to say though, most of the restaurants/bars in the area are overpriced purely based on their location. You’ll usually be met with under-par service and taste, which is why I wouldn’t usually be there looking for a meal.

Unfortunately, Blackbird Cafe┬áis not an exception. Although we were one of the few groups there, the waiters were inattentive and the food mediocre at best.. I wouldn’t recommend you to eat here so I won’t bother describing what we ordered. Positive things I can say about the restaurant is that the location is great and the vibe relaxed and quiet during the daytime. It also looks more than equipped enough for functions and private parties with their spacious floor and sound system, so perhaps come by for a post-dinner drink if you’re in the area orrr if you don’t mind “meh food” and just want a place in the harbour to round up your friends for a birthday function, hire out a section of the restaurant!
